BankingUX Advisors has been providing digital banking product and design advice since 1999 (previously known as OBR Webcheck under the Online Banking Report brand). Our goal is to make digital finance quick, easy, simple and profitable for our clients. We offer a variety of services to help financial institutions take customer experience to the next level. It starts with an in-depth look at your digital channels to identify strengths and gaps in your public website, mobile app, secure online banking and new account applications. BankingUX Advisors draws on our decade-plus experience in the financial services industry. We have studied thousands of banking, lending, investing and personal finance websites and delivered custom user-experience analyses for financial institutions both large and small.

 

Founders

jim-brueneJim Bruene (Founder & Principal Consultant) founded his boutique fintech consultancy Financial Innovations in 1994 and began publishing Online Banking Report in 1995 and the Netbanker blog in 2004. In 2007, the company entered the live-event field with the popular Finovate global event series showcasing new fintech and in 2014, the FinDEVr series for developers focused on the TECH in fintech. Jim also works directly with financial institutions providing strategic advice for improving online services, usability, and ROI. He has authored articles for trade magazines and spoken at numerous industry gatherings. He has also served as an early advisor to several prominent financial services companies including X.com/PayPal and ING Direct.

For the last 15 years, Chris has led the customer user experience efforts at Financial Innovations and now is founder and principal consultant at BankingUX Advisors.

Chris has provided usability support for many financial institutions around the world. By providing strategic advice for improving online services, usability, and ROI, institutions such as Capital One, Nationwide, Absa Bank Limited (Member of the Barclays Group), Samba Financial Group, StarOne, Provident Bank, as well as many others, have been able to create a more intuitive, enjoyable and profitable online banking experience for their customers.

Chris has been instrumental in the development of BankingUX Advisors usability evaluation methodologies, including best practice guidelines for all aspects of digital banking. He is also a regular contributor to BankingUX Blog.
